Who should not get treated with Botox™?

Botox™ has not been studied in pregnancy, and it is therefore unknown if foetal harm will result if a pregnant woman is treated with Botox™. Therefore, the use of Botox™ is not recommended during pregnancy.

Additionally it is unknown if Botox™ is excreted in breast milk, where it could effect a nursing infant. Therefore Botox™ treatment is not recommended in lactating women.

Additionally, patients with neuromuscular disease such as myasthenia gravis, Eaton-Lambert syndrome and multiple sclerosis, should not be treated with Botox™ as it may worsen these conditions.

Anyone who has had an allergic reaction to Botox™ or to human albumen should not be treated.
